Properties of Tricetate

 Triacetate is a manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is cellulose acetates not less than 92% of the hydroxyl groups being acetylated. The fiber has a lobular, round shape with a smooth surface.

Triacetate is a medium-weight fiber with a luxurious hand and excellent drape. It has good resiliency. It also has excellent pleat and crease retention when heat-set. The fiber may be washed and dry-cleaned. There is no pilling problem and only occasionally a static problem.

The principal use is various forms of apparel where good pleat or crease retentionis needed (e.g., pleated dresses and shirts) as well as in knitted sleepwear and robes.
